The President's Message
by Richard Galy

Dear friends, dear audience,

In 2025, your Festival is changing scale and increasing its events.

After a successful year of transition, thanks to the loyalty of the artists and the confidence of the public, this summer the Chorégies will be offering a large-scale programme with 12 shows in the Théâtre Antique, something never seen before in the history of the Festival.

Firstly, the programme returns to two operas and Verdi, with two sumptuous titles, Le Trouvère and La Force du Destin.

Then, this year, there are two other operatic evenings on offer, Mozart's Requiem and Paul McCartney's Liverpool Oratorio. From Mozart's masterpiece to the music inspired by the genius of the Beatles, these are two moments not to be missed.

For your ballet evening, the legendary Swan Lake will also be the occasion to welcome choreographer Angelin Preljocaj with his ballet.

Fantasia, Walt Disney's musical masterpiece, is a must-see for younger audiences.

Concerts such as Johnny's symphonic evening and Renaud Capuçon's recital complete a programme open to all horizons.

A festival committed to its region, this year the Chorégies are launching a new collaboration with the Festival International d'art lyrique d'Aix-en-Provence, co-producing Force du Destin and welcoming the Académie du Festival and the Orchestre des Jeunes de la Méditerranée for an opera concert open to young talent. The Festival's change of scale is also reflected in its new governance.

In 2025, our three local authorities - the City of Orange, the Department of Vaucluse and the Provence-Alpes-Côtes d'Azur Region - will join forces with the French State to create the new Établissement Public de Coopération culturelle (EPCC) des Chorégies d'Orange. France's oldest festival has thus become a truly forward-looking cultural public service.

I'd like to thank our partners, as well as the Association des Amis des Chorégies, for their support and loyalty.
