Pop the Opera is a unique project of the Chorégies d'Orange, offering middle and high school students in our region an exceptional opportunity: to learn about the arts and experience intense moments of sharing and emotion on the age-old stage of the Théâtre Antique. Since 2017, this project has thrilled several thousand young singers, accompanied by their music education teachers, with the help of artists Jean-Marie Leau and Victor Jacob. For the 2024-2025 season, three new performances are planned.

This year marks an enriching stage for Pop the Opera, with the addition of dance.

Choreographer Eugénie Andrin joins the project to guide teenagers - some already dancers, others novices - in the preparation of an original performance entitled Breathe, Breathe! a work in which an epidemic of dance overwhelms them in a collective and creative burst. Thanks to the support of the technical, administrative and artistic teams at the Chorégies d'Orange, the stage of the Théâtre Antique will resonate with the notes and steps of these passionate young artists, eager for art and beauty.

This project is being run in partnership with the Académie d'Aix-Marseille, reinforcing the Chorégies' commitment to the training and artistic development of young people.
