Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Messe de Requiem, en ré mineur, KV 626 (1791)
Anyone who has seen the famous film Amadeus will remember the feverish scene in which, in his final hours, Mozart dictates his final composition in a single stream to a totally overwhelmed and stunned Salieri... Admittedly, this scene never existed, but it nevertheless bears witness to the extraordinary evocative power of music that seems to come from a world beyond terrible and sweet. This work is a miracle. Our marvellous performers will try to get close to it.
The audience, more than ever, will be their partner.
